Forticlient VPN and RDA directions—

(To use VPN/Remote Desktop you must leave your office computer powered on or you won’t be able to connect to it off campus.)

 

Go to this link- https://forticlient.com/downloads and choose the first option on that page it will be in a red box labeled ‘Get Forticlient 6.0 for Windows’

Click ‘Download’ and save it to the desktop of your laptop. 

‘Right-click’ it and choose ‘Run as Administrator’.  (This is an important step so be sure to do it this way). 

After installation the Forticlient icon will be on the desktop.  Click on it to launch it and set Remote Access as the default service when Forticlient is opened.   It saves having to choose it each time.  Below are the steps.

 

Set Remote Access as the default:

Launch Forticlient then in the bottom left corner click ‘Unlock Settings’ 

Click on ‘Settings’ in the left side.  

At the bottom of the window you’ll see ‘-Advanced’.  Set ‘Remote Access’ in the drop down menu as the default option.  (It will be defaulted to Compliance & Telemetry). 

 

Click on ‘Remote Access’ in the left pane and click ‘Configure VPN’.  In this dialog box type in the settings exactly as shown in the picture below: 

 

Forticlient Configuration:

Connection Name:                                             Spalding VPN

Description:                                                        Spalding VPN

Remote Gateway:                                             206.196.14.3

Check Custom port box and change it to:      10443

Put a Check in    ‘Do not Warn Invalid Server Certificate’ box.

 

To use Remote Desktop Access (RDA):

 

Type in ‘Remote Desktop Access’ in the Start menu search bar it should pop up above.  

 

Right-click on it and pin it to the Start menu or Taskbar for easy access to it then click it to open it.  

 

In the Remote Desktop Access dialog box type in your office computer name where it has ‘Computer:’  

(Find your computer name by typing ‘System’ in the Start menu search bar and click it when it pops up above.  There you should see the name which should look like ’PCUsername’ (Your fist initial and last name).  

 

You’ll get a login prompt and there use your Spalding login.  Type in ‘spalding\’ (that’s a back slash after spalding) in front of your username then your spalding password.  

 

Click ‘Connect’ then a window will open and that will be your desktop on your office computer.  You can then work on the computer as if you are in the office with access to vault folders etc.  

 

 

 

To Connect to Eagledocs


 
You can use Windows File Explorer (folder icon) to access Eagledocs. Type \\eagledocs in the address line in File Explorer and then navigate to the folder you need. If you are asked for a username and password enter your username with spalding\ added to the beginning.
